When I was working as lead editor on multiple magazines serving the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) industry for several years, this was a phrase I heard over and over again. As smart hotel executives, sales people, meeting planners, CVB staff members, convention managers, incentive planners, marketing officers and many more titles know, relationships are the foundation of this business.
But that network everyone talks about? It's made up of real people. They have lives outside their jobs. They are not a means to an end.
Considering the gap in a media outlet that's for and about anyone in the hospitality industry, the idea for Unearthed was born.
Our editorial mission is three-fold:
1) To get to know people in the industry, revealing their unique personalities through our "31 Questions With..." series
2) To tell the stories of places through the people who live and work there, or have had life-changing experiences there
3) To share products, both tangible goods and services, that may help any road warrior travel a bit easier
